Will there be a new Burzum album anytime soon? Let's find out.[1] As some of you know, I have already released some new tracks by Burzum, but I've only released them on, you know, digital services like Spotify. And I have released it under another name, namely "Burzum New" instead of just Burzum. The "Burzum NEW" tracks are basically experimentation. I have picked up the guitar, made some new tracks, and checked out different things,[2] try different things, and I have released the results of these different experimentations. I'm not completely happy with all of them, and I have learned a lot from these experiments. And I'm not sure if I would release all of these tracks physically at a later stage. Probably only some of them. Like most of the time with Burzum, the concept has been fantasy. And this time the focus has been the land of Thule. The land of Thule... Thule is an old Greek name for a mythical land that we believe is Scandinavia. And of course, my version of that in my role playing game is of course, a lot more fantastical than the real Scandinavia. Hitherto I have had two periods of creativity. And the first period is marked by on Spotify by an image of, or by, Kittelsen image of a dead dragon. The second creative period, I used same artwork as I've used for the expert rules[3] for my role playing game as the background image. So you can see the difference on Spotify between the two using those images. But all the tracks created under the"Burzum NEW" name[4] are intended for the same album that has a working title "The Land of Thule". I use GarageBand when I record. The drums are programmed and I just used a default synthesizer from GarageBand and I've seen some people react when I told them that I used them GarageBand. But why do they react when I use GarageBand? It's perfectly sufficient. And if I can use my brother's amp for Filosofem and a headset for microphone, why wouldn't I be able to use GarageBand? What matters is your creativity and how you use your equipment, not necessarily the equipment. To some extent, of course. Unless you just have a bucket as a drum or something. You can find a "Burzum NEW" on Spotify of course, and similar services. And I'm not entirely sure what to do with a physical release yet, so that will have to wait for now. And you can of course find the ReconQuest Role-playing game books from Amazon if you're interested in that.
  1. The bats are patiently waiting for the next Burzum release.
  2. And some of the tracks are synth music.
  3. By Peter N. Arbo
  4. I used the same creation technique as I used in 1992 for the tracks made
    in the second creative period.
