Is Burzum THE BEST Black Metal band out there?

So do I think that Burzum is the best, the greatest black metal band out there? Well, let's find out. Uh, the short answer is nope, I don't. And Burzum is not even the first black metal band,[1] in case some people think I believe that. The first black metal band was Darkthrone. And I mean, the first black metal to actually release something was Darkthrone[2] with their "A Blaze in the Northern Sky". And this was quickly followed up by the Burzum debut album.[3] And both these albums became very important for the later so called black metal scene. And Burzum wasn't that important because it was such a great band.[4] I don't live under any illusions. I think some people like Burzum, others don't. And at the time, I think many liked it because it was very different. They were tired of this death metal trend and they wanted something different. And therefore they embraced Burzum. But one of the reasons for Burzum being so influential in 1992 is because Euronymous pushed it heavily and he used it as a template for[5] "this is how black metal is supposed to sound", dude. If you don't sound like this, you're not true, bro. And I don't even live under the illusion of thinking that he did that because he thought Burzum was so great. I know perfectly well that he did that... Maybe he liked it, that's okay. But I mean, he did it because it was on his label,[6] he had released that music, and therefore he used it as a template, not because it was "the best music ever". And as a musician, I know perfectly well that some people like this type of music, others like that type of music.[7] Some people like this band, others like that band. Some people like this track and others like that track best and so forth. And that's perfectly fine. And I know that some people like Burzum. Some people appreciate it. They know they tune in on the same spiritual frequency, maybe, and most people don't, and that's just fine. And I think it's great that some people like my music. I like it, too. Most of it, anyway. I think there are some music that I shouldn't have released, maybe, or should have done better, improved a little bit before I publish it and so forth. But by large, I like my music, and I'm great happy. Some others do, too. And I'm perfectly aware that most people don't. And I don't make music to be appreciated personally, you know. You know, one of the main influences of Burzum, early Burzum 1991, is white label techno music or house music, whatever you want to call it. And the idea behind that was that you could... They just release music and they didn't even put a name on the album, just put a white label on the vinyl. And I like that idea, and I was inspired by it. And this is one of the reasons why I used Corpse Paint,[8] because I wanted to be anonymous. Failed pretty badly, we have to agree. But that was the purpose. I'm not playing live. I don't want to play live. I don't want that attention from[9] a crowd. I'm not interested in that. I make music because I like to make music. I like to be creative. And I publish it because others appreciate it too. A few people, you know. And I don't think I do it better than other bands. I just, you know, do it in a way that some people appreciate,[10] and others do it in the way others appreciate or maybe more people appreciate. And that's fine. So I don't live under this illusion or if you like delusion, thinking that Burzum is the greatest or the best or anything, you know, Burzum is Burzum. Like it or don't like it, it's your choice. Or your taste. I don't know. And the taste is (inaudible)?, right? And mind you, I don't mock people who want to play live. I just say that I don't want to. If you want to have the attention of a crowd and so forth,[11] that's fine, too. But that's not why I make music. And since we talk about music, I can mention that I still make music. And I publish it on for example, Spotify[12] under the name "Burzum NEW". And I do that and because the record label releasing Burzum albums, created an account called Burzum, naturally. And I don't want to put it on the same account, because I want eggs in different baskets. Ah, intelligent blue eyes. And therefore I created my own account. And I get money from the other account, too, but I can also control this one.[13] So there you have that explanation. And I think my favourite Burzum track is "Key to the gate". Maybe "Hvis Lyset Tar Oss" from the "Hvis Lyset Tar Oss" album. And my favourite Burzum NEW track would be "The Mound of Fire", I think. And it's not the one that the most people listen to, by the way, but it's the one I like the most.
- No. There was no "first wave bm". Those who believe that don't even know
what bm was about. - In February 1992.
- In March 1992.
- The next band to release anything was Immortal, in September 1992.
- Which was 100% in conflict with the whole BM revolt.
- And to gatekeep...
- I like ONE track by Manowar (Heart of Steel, of course).
- This also explains my use of a pseudonym.
- I talk to a camera here. I am all alone... (with some bats flying about).
- ...my way.
