Replacing & Adjusting Distributor (Thulean Chill Out)
Video info
Description | The UAZ engine misfired, and I could not find the problem. I capitulated and let a professional technician look at it. When it came back from him it was even worse, but in a different way... now it misfired at (all) cruising speed(s). Originally it only misfired at idle. I guess the technology in this old cars is a bit too old for the (fairly young) technician, so I decided to take matters in my own hands, and started adjusting. First the carburetor, but nothing changed. Then I replaced spark plugs. It became easier to start and there was no longer any delay from when I pushed the throttle to the car accelerated. But it still misfired at cruising speed. Then I started adjusting the distributor -- that I knew the technician had (according to him) "cleaned". It became better, but still misfired. So I decided to open up my Faraday box and bring out my "reserve distributor", to see if the old distributor was broken. So in this video I will remove the old distributor, replace it with a new one and adjust the new one. Will that fix the problem? Let's find out....
