Black Redstart babies Black Redstart is a THREATENED and PROTECTED bird. Black Restart lives here (blue area) WHY are they threatened? Let's find out. Cats kill up to 3.7B birts annually. Cats that live in the wild or indoor pets allowed to roam outdoors kill from 1.4 billion to as many as 3.7 billion birds in the continental U.S. each year, says a new study that escalates a decades-old debate over the feline threat to native animals. ... in the USA alone. Cats Are Not a Natural Part of Ecosystems. The domestic cat, is a descendant of the European and African wild cats. Domesticated in Egypt more than 4,000 years ago, cats may be the most widespread predator in the world. In the U.S., cats were not abundant until the late 1800s when they were brought to help control burgeoning rodent populations associated with agriculture. Some people view cat predation of rodents as beneficial, but native small mammals are important to maintaining biologically diverse ecosystems. Field mice and shrews are also prey for birds such as Great Horned Owl and Red-tailed Hawk. The Black Restart is a threatened species because of domesticated cats. The babies are very vulnerable when they leave the nest to learn to fly, and the domesticated cats kill them for sports. Domesticated cats kill (for sport) the animals that our native European species (foxes, hawks, owls, etc.) need to survive. Like mice. Domesticated cats kill (for sport) to extinction all sorts of anumals that are an important part of our ecosystem. Domesticated cats spread diseases to native wildlife, but also to their owners. Toxoplasmosis (breeds in the intestines of cats) has been linked to schizophrenia in humans. We counted 11 such babies in our garden today. Unfortunately ALL our neighbours have domesticated cats that they let roam free (but i have a dog trained not to kill birds, so they might survive anyhow). Instead of feeding the birds, we grow all sorts of grains on our property and leave it for the birds. This is a way to "sacrifice to the gods". In our Native European world view, the birds are the messengers of the gods, attributes of the gods, or incarnations of the gods themselves. They are an image of our immortal Thoughts and Memory. The birds are EXTREMELY helpful in our efforts to restore the natural habitat of the Native European man. The wind, the trees themselves, and the birds, as well as squirrels and other rodents, help turn this former pasture into a European forest again. The native European WILD cat is not such a problem, because it does not enjoy special protection, and is not everywhere and in huge numbers. Unlike the domesticated cat, the European wild cat IS apart of our ecosystem. In our Native European world view, the wild cats (forest cat, cave lion, leopard etc.) represent the motherly force of the placenta nourishing the egg in the womb of the mother, by"feeding on the mother". Freyja = Egg. Chariot = Placenta. Wild cats = the force pulling the egg forward (in time/growth), by "eating the blood from the mother". Yes, we had cave lions here before, and leopards too. Restore the natural habitat of the Native European man! #NativeEuropeMatters!
