The French government banned the private use of pesticides. Sounds good, doesn't it? But is it? Let's find out.[1] Well, it does sound really good, doesn't it? But the problem is that they only banned a type of pesticides that is commonly used because those who produce it only had patent[2] for 40 years. And when those 40 years had expired, anybody could produce it. So, the pesticide producers have now, using lobbyists, made the politicians ban that pesticide so that nobody can use it anymore. And, big surprise, they have come with a new type of pesticide. You know, they have patent on it and for the next 40 years they are the only ones who can produce it. And that pesticide is not banned. There you have capitalism at its best and the political system at its best. And it's going to be another 40 years of disaster for our environment. Thank you for watching.[3][4][5][6][7]
