They always say that we are so free here in, you know, these democracies that we have freedom. But is that correct? Let's find out.[1] There is freedom from and freedom to. And they are kind of opposites often. Here in Europe, and I guess in the USA as well, you can't do anything you want in traffic. You can't do anything you want with your car.[2] You have to follow strict rules. You have to have one seat for each person in the car. You have to have seat belts. The car has to be in this or that condition. You can only load so much in terms of weight into the car and so forth and so forth. But if you go to India or Africa and parts of Asia, they have no such limitations. You can just put as many people inside the car as you can fit. Nobody has to wear seat belts. The car can be a piece of junk with no, you know, you don't even need a windscreen, no hood, no problem. You can do whatever you want there.[3] So they are free to do as they want in that context and we are not. But of course we are free from having other motorists doing, you know, like that. So we in theory should be more safe and they are not free from that kind of risk. So it's more dangerous to drive there. Personally I want to take responsibility for my own life. I have a car which is not very safe to drive. But I increase my safety, so to speak, by driving slowly and carefully, by not being intoxicated[4][5] when I drive, by not being too tired when I drive and so forth. So I'm pretty sure I'm going to be fine anyway. And I am able to, you know, make these decisions. I don't need and I don't want some system telling me what to do. I'm not a sheep. I don't want to be a sheep.[6] When you for a prolonged time are under a system where you are not allowed to take responsibility for your own life, then you become rather dumb, don't you? And incapable of taking responsibility. You become domesticated. You might have an increased chance to survive when you take your car out to drive because there are fewer intoxicated people and people with so many passengers that they can barely drive or people with cars that have almost no brakes and so forth. So yes, we are more likely to survive, but in what condition? The inability to take responsibility for your own life sort of, what shall I say,[7] infects the other parts of life as well. Because then it becomes an overall, not demon or attitude, I guess. You become domesticated, you know, in all contexts. It infects all parts of your life. You become overall unable to take responsibility for your own life. That's not good. And again, what is it that brings this domestication to us? Civilization. We are more civilized than these people, peoples in Africa or Asia or whatever. And that's a bad thing. It's only a bad thing. We become the dogs and the others will remain wolves. We will degenerate, the others won't. We will commit suicide, the others won't. R.I.P. Europe... Or we can pick life instead, by returning to absolute barbarism! www.thuleanperspective.com
