The top 10 movies/films that inspired Burzum. I'm not saying these are necessarily good movies/films. I'm just saying that these are the top 10 that inspired Burzum. Some of them are also really good though. Enjoy.

  1. The Lord of the Rings
When it came it re-kindled my interest in fantasy, and made me both read the books anew and probably also helped inspire me to create MYFAROG, "the Burzum RPG". It is not very good though.

  2. Conan the Barbarian
This is a really bad movie, but as a young teenager I liked it a lot, and identified greatly with the "one (three...) against many" conflict at the centre of the story. It was always like that with me too. Even back then.

  3. Star Wars
The first three Star Wars movie were all great, but especially the first one. I had it on VHS and saw it again, and again, and again.

  4. The Guns of Navarone
WWIl war movies in general, here represented by "The Guns of Navarone". I saw them all, and they all made me realise that the movie industry is full of shit, and history is written by the winner. lf the Germans were THAT stupid and THAT easy to kill, then why were they a threat to anybody to begin with? It made no sense.

  5. Evil Dead
    What a horrible movie...

  6. The Warriors
Again, the "one against many" theme I identified with greatly. Injustice, cruelty and desperation.

  7. Come and See
My dream come true: Find a working rifle and join a war as a child. This movie was just, what I had dreamed about in my childhood, when I searched through those old German bunkers in Norway, in the hope of finding some working MP 403 of K98s or at least a steel helmet. Unlike the boy in this movie, I never found anything though. Other than that, this is a terrible anti- German Soviet propaganda movie.

  8. The Lord of the Rings
Apart form training "Karate" and going to the rifle club, I was playing RPGs almost all my free time (and I also skipped school to make adventures....), and then one day a guy told me about the existence of a "The Lord of the Rings" movie... wow. It was not great, but still... wow.

  9. Red Dawn
Partisan warfare by a group of kids? This movie inspired me to prepare myself, for war and I did. In order not to get arrested by the attackers, we wanted unregistered
weapons though, which kind of led to me becoming a "criminal". I had several illegal rifles and THOUSANDS of rounds. if only a war would break out.

  10. Stalker
I saw this on Norwegian TV when it came. Or so l remember it anyhow. At the time I did not understand much, but was deeply fascinated and moved.
