About Comfort & Happiness
Life today is very comfortable, but is it good for us? Let's find out.
Life was not more comfortable before. I have never meant to say that. What I have said and what I wish to repeat now is that life was less comfortable before, but still better. We, with this comfortable lifestyle that allows us to live even more comfortably than the kings of the past, we ruin ourselves. We ruin ourselves because we break down our minds and bodies with this too comfortable lifestyle.
I can also add that your level of happiness is dependent on your level of physical fitness and mental health. And the comfortable life breaks down both these, so if you want happiness you need to live a less comfortable life.
The European man didn't grow creative, intelligent and physically tough from relaxing in the shade under a palm tree, whilst food fell of itself into his lap. Life in Europe has always been hard, and it should be. This hardship is what makes us Europeans. Our forebears lived here in Europe even during the Ice Ages. Some even lived in Norway during the Ice Ages. Yes, they walked upon the glaciers themselves, and built hunting cabins on the mountain peaks, protruding like islands from the glaciers thousands of meters above sea level. Nothing is further from the European nature and spirit, than the destructive Middle-Eastern "Paradise" fantasy. Hail to the European Gods and Goddesses, for all the tests and challenges they throw at us in life! Hail and Joy!

If you want to move upward in life, you have to walk uphill. At one point our legs will not be able to hold our own weight, so to speak, and we will collapse and die and perish as a species. There is hope though, even for the modern man. You can always try to do things in less comfortable ways, to avoid or at least slow down the degeneration of yourself. You can do things a harder way, you can do things a more challenging way, and you will grow and learn and remain human in the process.
I can also add that your level of happiness is dependent on your level of physical fitness and mental health. And the comfortable life breaks down both these, so if you want happiness you need to live a less comfortable life.
