I'm going to talk a little bit more about nationalism, because a lot of people seem to think that my last video was about civic nationalism. It wasn't. It was about ethno-nationalism.
You see, there is no Norwegian tribe, there is no Swedish tribe, there is no English tribe, and there never was. These are artificial constructs. These are made-up identities. They never existed for real.[1]Some people think that they need to stay within their nation and that mixing nations is a destruction of their identity and so forth. But you really think that the Norwegians didn't have Irish wives or Scottish wives or Anglo-Saxon wives or Frisian wives or Danish wives or Swedish wives or German wives or Finnish wives or Baltic wives or Slavic wives. If you go to Iceland, they have genealogy records that makes it perfectly clear that 90% of them had Irish and Scottish forebears. Not only, of course, but 90% of them had at least one or more Irish or Scottish forebears.
And those who think that this is like a mixing culture and diluting our identities, well, that's because you have fucked up identities to begin with.[2]If you identify as a Norwegian, you identify as something that doesn't exist. And how can you dilute something that doesn't exist? I've said it before, that the language you speak has nothing whatsoever to say about your origin.[3]All the identities that people have today in Europe are completely false, they're made up, fabricated bullshit identities. There are no Poles, there are no Germans, there are no Frenchmen, Englishmen or even Norwegians or anything! Doesn't exist! These are false, made up identities.
If you want a true identity, you can take a look in the mirror. If you look like me, we're from the same tribe of people. And if you have a passport that says Ukraine or France or whatever, completely irrelevant. And if you speak this or that language also, completely irrelevant. Doesn't matter. And we probably have the same forebears regardless of where we live today.
If you don't look like me, then we probably don't have that many forebears in common. Generally speaking, the more we look alike, the more common ancestors we have.
