More about MYFAROG can be...
A religious character can ask for favours, and asking for favours is basically asking a deity to cast a spell for you. A 'Favour' is no different from a 'Spell', save in the fact that the former is a spell cast by a deity for a religious character, while the latter is a spell cast by a sorcerer. And it takes a little bit longer than it does for a sorcerer to cast a spell, because the religious person has to ask the deity first for the spell. So it takes one round extra for religious characters to ask for favours. And instead of spending stamina points, they spend favour points. The more dedicated your character is to the deities, the more powerful favours he can ask for, and the more favour he has with the deities. In game terms, that means that e. g. a Bard ('priest'/'cleric') can ask for more powerful favours than a religious Warrior ('fighter') can, and he has more Favour Points to spend each day. Characters can also ask for more powerful favours from their favourite deities, than from the other sympathetic deities.
Also, when you, as a sorcerer, cast a spell, you have to channel the power of the spirit with your staff. But the religious characters, they don't need that, because they are not casting the spell themselves. They are asking a deity to do it for them. But it is advantageous for them to use a wand made from a tree that is connected to the deity they ask the favour from. And also you can ask for more powerful favours if you ask for a favour in a temple area, where of course the deities have more influence.
